The show features works chosen by Efi Malamou in her father’s vast personal collection of over 500 works on paper, by some 100+ artists.

Occupying the full exhibition floor in the Atop multispace, the selection includes relief painting, aquatint, woodcut, and lithography. The entire collection is permanently housed in the Municipal engraving gallery in Zitsa, Malamos’ home village. We do encourage our visitors to visit the whole collection as well, in order to appreciate the full breadth of techniques represented in the collection.
For Kostas Malamos (1913-2007), amassing this collection constituted building a personal reference library—without differentiating between up-and-coming talent and established artists, the collection includes Greek masters of the 19th century up to emerging artists alike. A glimpse into this outstanding collection allows to understand the profound impact the works have had, on Malamos’ own artistic practice and vision.
